A classic Italian movie re-mastered and re-released to celebrate the canonization in 2025 of Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati (1901-1925).
Frassati was a handsome, athletic and fun-loving young man from a rich, aristocratic Italian family who turned from a life of privilege to one devoted to working with the poor, suffering and homeless, and was a courageous witness of Christian faith and charity to many others. An avid mountain climber, Frassati exemplified a great love for life, nature and humanity. He was a leader of youth in Italy in Catholic social justice and charitable organizations, and is the patron saint of World Youth Days. He died of the polio virus at the age of 24.
Directed by Leonardo Castellani, and starring Antonio Sabato as Frassati, along with Ottavia Piccolo and Cinzia de Ponti.
