"Mary, the Mother of Jesus, is alive, and present with God's People. Her God and ours 'is not a God of the dead, but of the living; for all live to him' (Luke 20:38). And all who live to him live to one another in him. For in the communion of saints, all who are alive to God are in communion with one another, because they are in communion with the Lord.
Much of this book takes the form of prayerful conversation addressed to Mary. Conversation like this takes for granted Mary's communion with us in the Holy Spirit. In the course of the book we shall show the Scriptural justification for this belief in Mary's continuing presence with us and for our continuing conversation with her."
